I have always enjoyed creating things with my hands, and I am
blessed to have a family to encourage me. When a dear friend introduced me to beading, I fell in love with the design possibilities
and sparkling beads! For several years I consistently made jewelry pieces for gifts. Along the way I was asked to teach
a small group of Marine wives to make several bracelet designs. These women were huge encouragers for me in taking my artistic
passions to a commercial level. As the wife of a United States Marine and mother of three, I don’t need anything
else to do, but design fires my passion to create, teach, and play with those sparkling beads and gems! My husband continues
to be my foundational encourager and challenger as I meld my creative passions with the commercial world. The last few
years have seen my jewelry work grow from developing my skills using techniques learned from others to stretching into
the designing world. There are so many things that inspire my designs. My young daughter has inspired several delicate
designs that are fit for even the finest young lady. My fellow military spouses have inspired many of my military themed
jewelry using uniform buttons. God's creation around me constantly inspires my color choices and design techniques. If you enjoy my designs or have any constructive suggestions , please let me know by contacting me at joy@joyfuldesigns.net.
Joyfully,
Joy Harmon
