Joyful Designs provides many technical classes. P1010015.JPG

My purpose of all classes is to provide my students with hands on instruction, printed instructional materials, and familiarity with a technique so that they can walk away and repeat the learned skills.
I have taught some of my most difficult classes to ages 10 to 73 years; I love to see the excitement and satisfaction in my students as they finish a project.  My favorite and more common comment from students has been, "I was making this for a friend, but I have to make her another one because this one has to be mine!"
Join me for a class and experience the excitement!

The In-Studio classes are the broadest range as they are scheduled upon request of the student.
The In-Retail Store classes are scheduled according to the store's choices and are calendared well in advance.

SEE CALENDAR PAGE FOR SCHEDULED CLASSES DETAILS.

Technique Specialties

OFF-LOOM WEAVING techniques.  Some of the most popular off-loom weaving stitches are peyote stitch, right angle weave, bead netting, spiral stitch, square stitch, and brick stitch. With these techniques, one has endless design possibilities.  Getting started with off-loom weaving is extremely affordable; all you need is a beading needle, beading thread, and a few inexpensive beads to practice.

WIRE WORK (making loops and wire wrapping) is also taught in the In-Studio classes by Joy.

Another emerging technique is WIRE CROCHET.  This is a fun and exciting merge of classic crochet stitches and contemporary materials.  It is much easier than it looks, and you don't have to know how to crochet to take classes.

STRINGING techniques is a simple process that can yield beautiful results.  These classes can be for any ages and skill levels.
